With the IMA Rocky Mountain Championships, competition training, and our Grand Opening in April, we have a very busy schedule ahead. As a family, IMA North Fork Karate is growing every day. Please do your best to make all new students, whatever their previous training, feel welcome. Next Testing: March 29th, 2008 9:00am. PRACTICE!! CPR class: March 22nd. 10 am. Check with Sensei if interested. Keep an eye on the schedule in the front hall to keep up with practice and demo schedule. Students of the Month Penny Smith, for stepping out from her regular schedule to make a commitment to her karate training. Zeb Etter, for showing good karate spirit and newfound courage to try new things. Rocky Mountain Championships, Sunday March 16th. If you are going, be at the Monarch High School early. Adults can score keep and we will all sit together so we have a cheering section. Cell phone number for Mrs. McGavin (970)261-6904. Call if your plans change or you can't find us. Bring food and water for the whole day! Don't forget your mouthpiece. If you are NOT going: Think good thoughts all day Sunday for the participants. It will help! Saturday, APRIL 5TH GRAND OPENING WITH SHIHAN MADANI -We have seminars with Shihan Madani on Friday 6:30-8pm April 4th for all IMA students only. -Ribbon cutting ceremony is at 9 am with Paonia mayor- Niel Schweiterman. -We have demos on Sat. AM. and Shihan has consented to do a demo for us. You do not want to miss this. -On Saturday 1:30-2:45 pm, the youth seminar “How to Generate Maximum Power & Speed in Karate Techniques” will be held. The Adults' seminar (13 years and up), “Special Methods of Explosive Movement in Kata and Kumite” is at 3:00-4:30 pm. Any martial artist may participate on Sat! -Working out with Shihan Madani is a special privilege. Come, show your support and karate spirit! Sign up to participate in a demo!!! Earn a blue stripe! We need team kata demos, skits and bunkai demos. We also need parents and karate-ka to sign up for other help. We will have open house for the town so we want to look good. Please help if you can!
